ThinkTank #12 - English

If a verb follows a preposition or phrasal verb, a gerund must be used.

A gerund looks like a verb in present participle tense, but it typically serves the function of a noun instead.

For phrasal verbs that end with 'to', we must also use the gerund instead of the infinitive (e.g. look forward to meeting...).
